The Garden Path

Description

The Garden Path is a suite of 5 short pieces inspired by a walk through the garden. This suite is suitable for the intermediate harpist. The movements are entitled Morning Glory, Hosta Paradise Glory, Daisy Flower, Trillium Dreams, and Black Orchid. Each movement within the suite captures a unique and engaging perspective of the garden. Morning Glory is a combination of a morning meditation and reveille, Hosta Paradise Glory captures the quiet consistent beauty of the hosta plant, Daisy Flower is as American as a hoe-down and apple pie, Trillium Dreams is a gentle sweet waltz, and Black Orchid, the flower of Brazil, is a samba for the harp.

Although these pieces can be performed on the pedal harp, they were expressly written for the lever. Little or no lever changes are required, yet there is a sophistication to the harmony that is not often found in lever harp repertoire. Both you and your audiences are sure to enjoy these pieces!
